KUDOC has executed some Projects of Environmental Education which includes promoting environmental awareness, encouraging environmentally responsible behavior, and developing an environmental ethic that promotes an understanding of the ecological interdependence of the social, political, and economic spheres.
We also work to reduce air, water and land pollution, to facilitate the conservation of natural resources for our future generation, to ensure the protection of biodiversity and to implement sustainable development.
KUDOC is making a stronger case for the importance of biodiversity and we consider how reliant we are on the ecosystem. For our diverse needs, we rely directly on various plant species. It is similar to how we rely on different animal and microbial species for various reasons.
Here are the few points we have been working on for the past 14 years to help our communities understand the need to conserve biodiversity.
1. We have identified and preserved certain creatures that are significant commercially.
2. Some unique ecosystems have been protected.
3. We have carried out sensitization discouraging hunting and poaching of wild animals and harped emphasis on species that are threatened by extinction.
4. We are looking forward to create reserves and protected areas to preserve biodiversity.
5. We executed projects in 40 Schools in Cameroon to reduce environmental pollution levels.
6. We also worked with 4 Agriculture Centers to discourage and deforestation by distribution flyers.
Pending Projects:
1. Environmental laws need to be strictly followed.
2. To benefit beneficial and threatened plant and animal species, both their natural and man-made habitats should be protected.
3. Educating the public about biodiversity conservation is essential.
